Calypso’s Island

Shipwrecked

Shipwrecked emotions flow
Chaos, devastation and sadness
These things happen in love
Who caused it and who is to blame?
I am I know, but why
Does it happen in love this way
But how do we deal with it?
Does love lie in ruins or
Do we just give in and feel the emotions
Or retreat into the depths of our hearts
And remain there sad and lonely
No one can tell us what to do
How can we understand?
But don’t let us go and throw it all away
Are there answers?
Or in the end is it the truth of love
That is the cure for the pain.
Can we shut our eyes
No it does not go away
I created the pain
When I left on the journey, but
Can we draw on a love
Created by the energy of the two of us
That is greater than our separate hurt and pain?
I hope that you can make
The gold light of your love
Shine on me again
And lift me high so I can join you
Like the oh so many times before
From across the void it seems so hard
But don’t let us go and throw it all away
And now I focus on your eyes and heart and love
And then I know it is real
For the truth of our love to make us whole again
Joined in the light by our shimmering energy.
Call me back to you from across the abyss.
